A Warrior Cry To Your Soul

To make a commitment to change and to alter ones path takes courage.

It takes a realisation that what ever you are doing is not serving you and so you draw a line, make a stand, a declaration to be brutally honest with yourself and challenge the very fabric of your being to see if it is you or other influences controlling your destiny.

If you feel powerless, then take steps to alter your internal environment and change direction and take back your power.

Do you hold sovereignty over yourself, are you in control of you?
or do you allow yourself to be controlled?

What influences are you allowing to preside over you? What reasons are you using to prevent action?

YOU get to choose the thoughts you have and actions you take.
Do not wait, do not hesitate!

The first rule of mastering yourself is to master your palate, what you consume…the food that you eat.

Once you master that you can apply that template to master anything.

Do you control what you ingest? Or do you continue to make excuses as to why you do not, can not, will not!

Consumption is not the problem.

Denial is the problem.

Being a warrior is about brutal self honesty.

It is about knowing yourself inside and out so that you cannot get away with kidding yourself.

What are you kidding yourself about?

What reasons are you using why you cannot be who you want to be?

Post below or send me a message if you are struggling and need some help with that.

Do You Have too Much Baggage to Succeed?

Have you ever noticed?

It seems as if we spend the first part of our lives collecting things…material possessions, and general baggage to try and make us happy.

we are convinced that buy shiny objects will lead to happiness

but have you ever realised?

That once you buy the thing you cannot live without it almost instantly loses its shine and so you move onto the next shiny object in the hope that it will be the answer to your smiles.

Then we get to a point in life when we realise that all of it is just “stuff”. Which doesn’t actually make much difference on our happiness or well being.

Then we spend the last part of our lives trying to get out from under it all and maybe patch up our damaged health or our poor relationships that we sacrificed in getting all this stuff.

Thing is until we start looking inside ourselves, we will still search everywhere else for the solution or blame everyone or thing why we don’t, even when the answer is right in front of us (or actually inside of us) all along. Sometimes we are just forced to confront them.

Like now.

I have been the same. Working so hard on everyone elses happiness I had been neglecting my own. I just never realised it at the time.

You see I love to help people, it is why I am here on this planet. But there is something I knew I should do first, but neglected to do until I forced myself to…

…to look after myself first.

<<<IMPORTANT FACT RIGHT THERE! >>>

If you know me, you probably know that can be terrible at getting back to you. Sometimes doing everything last minute, its never intentional.

You see I have been telling myself I haven’t got time to deal with all the work I have to do.

But I have called myself out my own B.S. It isn’t a tonne of messages or emails or enquiries I was faced with, it was because I am so unorganised.

Too much in my head, too much “stuff” on my desk to sort out.

This stuff can wear you out. We humans do that a lot to justify our actions. Make excuses as to why was cannot do something, It makes us feel better for the lack of success we’re having.

BUT

It doesn’t serve you AT ALL

Hiding behind the truth, scared in case you get found out. I’m willing to put money on it that you’re doing the same with your body.

Maybe you have sacrificed your body for you career or for raising your family and like me telling my self I am too busy.

You’ve been telling yourself you have no time for exercise,

You have no time to prepare your meals,

But in reality…. you’re spending wasted minutes in the day on Facebook – those minutes add up!

{TIP: Download the app “break free” to find out how much time you’re wasting on social media}

Or suppressing this lack of progress with naughty food, booze, internet, TV..etc

and because you’ve not been taking care of yourself, you’re not as productive at work, so your finances are not reaching their potential. You’re not present at home, so your not being intimate with your partner.

This all stems from not looking after yourself first.

i.e. You happiness, your fitness, your nutrition.

But the truth is too obvious and because it requires a change of routine, it’s easier to suppress the pain your covering up, with more sedation, more food, booze, tv, and internet etc…

So you continue to tell yourself LIES to justify why you cannot change and like me, you probably have had too much baggage in your environment.

So how about this…

Start by having a clear out

Bag up the clothes that you no longer wear,

Clean everything…Maybe you think you are dancing the hoover around like Mrs Doubtfire,

But probably look more like Freddie Mercury in the music video “I want to break free” wink emoticon

Change the bed sheets, open the windows, clear your workspace, get your feng shui on and feel zen like.

More importantly… De-stress and wipe the slate clean

Make the fresh start!

It’s SHOCKING how much environment stress weighs us down.

So just by detoxing your environment, you will feel that weight lift from your shoulders.

It’s an amazing feeling.

Taking the first step is the biggest effort

Once you have done that we can take care of other baggage for you…

like emotional stress

and digestive stress.

exercise stress…

So When will you be ready to deposit some energy into YOURSELF to become a better version of yourself?

let me know below…

Wheres the Struggle?

Struggle

Now there’s a word banded about so much these days.

It seems like more and more we are conditioned that life should be a struggle.

So much so that we buy into that story and act it out, every day!

We blindly accept that we should be struggling and suffering, based on what we hear and are told and so we actually take that story and work hard to make it true.

I mean it must be true, everyone says so, everyone tells me life is hard so it must be true!

But what if I told you life can be easy?

I’ll bet some stories come into your head just to prove me wrong.

I know that because I had those stories and still do.

So I get it, I really do.

I’ve been there. Believed what everyone said.

You got to work hard, you got to sacrifice, grind, struggle etc etc. all words that infer difficulty.

and boy did I live up to it!

but it isn’t supposed to be.

Once you really realise and accept how little time you really have on this spinning orb, thats when you realise you can do anything you want.

And should go about it with all the passion and purpose you can muster.

Where is it written that if you do something that you truly love that it will be difficult?

Our fleeting presence is a mere speck in time and each day if you waste that time doing things that serve no purpose? is a travesty.

So listen up! It’s game time. You’re in, playing, right now, and the clock is ticking.

Yes you are, right here, right now!

So what are you going to do?

If you are only existing and surviving, doing something you loathe, when you have your dreams hidden away under lock and key, what has to happen for you to change that?

Make no mistake, in no time at all you will be gone, forever. So you better do whatever it is you’re going to do. Because once you time is up, it’s up.

You cannot turn back those hands of time.

So what do you do?

You replace clarity instead of confusion

By contracting to expand, removing the clutter and excess in your life that does not serve you, so you can provide the space to grow into who you really are.

So simplify the complexity. If it feels too hard, it is, so see how you can make it easier.

Do less not more, when did doing more make things simpler?

Find your true essence. when everything about who think you are is stripped back, the real you will remain, so have the courage to face yourself and find YOU.

Forget about survival and struggle

Focus on thriving and success.

We all have the ability to choose our own path to happiness, you just have to have the courage to stand up and find it.

What would success mean to you in your life?

What are you struggling with?

If you want help with finding out then get in touch.

One Smart Dude

I watched the film “theory of everything” at the weekend about Prof Stephen Hawking’s life. What an incredible person, who despite everything has continued to amaze the world.

He literally chose to do what he set out to do despite the medical profession giving him only 2 years to live.

Now this condition is very real and life threatening and yet he defied EVERYONE!

You see in his early 20’s he was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease otherwise known as ALS. A brilliant man with the world at his feet, I can not even imagine being told you have 2 years to live.

I have known a few people with this condition, who were told they had a short life span and accepted their fate, most without thought or challenge.

Professor Hawkings is now 74!

He simply chose that he had too much to offer the world and too much to discover that he decided that his time was not up.

There are things in life that come easy and some that are challenging and no doubt this was a challenge that I would not wish on anybody.

but here’s what I found totally fascinating about his story.

It reMINDed my how much the power of the mind is incredible!
it can manifest things both good and bad. It can debilitate you, it can create euphoria and pleasure.

Prof Hawkings was a man that simply refused to give up, no matter what happened to him.

In life you can have anything you want, no matter what happens, it is how you choose to react and respond to it.

You can have anything you attract, so focus on what you do want, have the faith and belief to see it through everyday through your thoughts, words AND Actions.

Thinking and saying is not enough we must DO!

Anything is possible.

It made me re-evalute everything. Myself, my business and relationships, everything.

Because even though we all perceive problems, we make them real. But after watching this film I thought how insignificant mine all were.

Thats why I do what I do, to help people see beyond the walls they construct for themselves.

to help them get on track. Action crushes doubt. I know its true. its the only thing that works for me.

Taking imperfect action, stepping up despite how I felt (and I struggled with this a lot)

In life I believe we have to remove the excess. Contract to expand.

Minimise all the superfluous to find the real you.

To cut the baggage loose and find the courage to face your truths and stories. To challenge everything you have come to accept and believe.

The truth is, it is simply understanding and KNOWING the real you and BEING who you were meant to be.

To love who you are and BE who you really are, every day.

To speak from the heart with confidence and understand your values.

To show up everyday and ENJOY life BEING you!

If you have decided to find out how to find the real you, to strip away the stories to be laid bare and find happiness and want help to do it, then simply get in touch with me.

Sometimes Less is More

Sometimes less is more!

Now don’t get me wrong, I love training. I have spent nearly 30 years in the martial arts, travelling the country to seek out the best coaches to help be get better. It is the same with strength and conditioning, to train and learn from the best I have been worldwide.

I have been fanatical from a young age,

Then 15 years ago, because me and my wife were told we couldn’t have kids, I didn’t accept that and looked at every way to increase our chances. That is when I eventually turned to nutrition and how important it is for our health. Suffice to say, we addressed that and we have our son who is now 10 years old.

Yes nutrition and what you eat is THAT powerful, it can create babies, what are the chances 😉

I am stubborn like that, if someone told me I couldn’t do something I would use that as a driver to find a way how I could.

Whether it is having kids or doing ab wheel roll outs. I refuse to believe it until I have proved it to myself either way.

I have also studied mindset and how this is so important to getting the other things right, how you talk to yourself, how you act all makes a huge impact on your life.

Of course I have had my ups and downs like anyone else, with training, injuries, highs and lows. we all make mistakes, it is what makes us human, it is what we learn from mistakes and failure that makes us grow as individuals.

However, one thing I didn’t realise until 2 years ago is how the brain and the mind work. they are totally different. I trained in a specific way of coaching that turned what i believed on its head.

And this is when sometimes less is more.

If you have a weight loss goal, eating well and training, but your results have stalled. you usually adjust your nutrition or your training. Because people struggle with nutrition because of all the crap food out there appealing to your taste buds, not to mention your waistline, they start training more, hoping that training more will help.

Now for a lot of people that works, because it is done smart, but for others it doesn’t. They can stay the same or gain weight. I learned a while ago that you can either train hard or train smart. when has throwing more stuff at something that isn’t working make it work?

Rest and recovery are at least as important as the training you do, it helps remove over training and burnout, because if you are stressed, adding another stressor will not help you, it simply adds more stress to the stress bucket.

The thing is, there is one thing that trumps diet, training and mindset….

Stress.

Stress wreaks havoc on your chemical makeup… your hormones. it will stop fat loss in its tracks. if you are chronically stressed, no amount of dieting or training will help you.

You have to deal with the stressful situation. If you don’t you will stall, your brain will stop you thinking rationally, in fact it will stop you thinking at all and it will react to what you did the first time that situation occurred. it wired it to your brain so you don’t have to think next time, you just do.

It looks for safety and comfort, things it knows. Your brain has an in built survival mechanism, which has never changed for 1000’s of years.

If it perceives threat/danger/stress, it doesn’t want you to think, it wants reaction, fight or flight.

In the modern world that means reaching for comfort foods or training all the time.

You may have heard the phrase “you cannot out train a bad diet”

But you cannot out diet a bad mindset, but you cannot out mindset a bad brain set.

But what if you can change that?

the best way to stop reaching for the biscuit barrel is to…

STOP

Walk away, in fact go for a walk, change your state, do deep breathing, meditate. THEN come back to where you were in a calmer state. When the same stories come up in your head e.g. I want a biscuit, challenge them, do they serve you? is there a better way to act? a better story that serves you?

There will be, it is then that you make the choice, yes YOUR choice to use a different story that does serve you and gives you what you want.

So, if you ware throwing everything at your training or training every day or more than once a day.

STOP

ask what stressors are in your life?

a busy household? kid? job? money?

look for the triggers and change the story around them

If you are struggling with your nutrition

STOP

ask yourself what triggers are making you eat foods that don’t serve you? that don’t get you to the goals you have set.

then change the story you are playing in your mind.

Remember, you can only change how you react when you are calm, so remove the stress first.

Make sense?

Be Courageous
Be Happy
