Simply Choose to BEgin

To become the “best version of you” you can be, you have to grow as a person.

Small thinking will not get you there. You have to expand your mind and your thoughts.

Contracting to expand.

Moving forwards requires a focus on the important things, the challenging things.

Cutting away the excess, the superfluous, the distractions that don’t serve you.

Once you are aligned you will be able to expand yourself, your consciousness will grow to allow you to become a better version of you.

Focus on impacting as many people as you can in a positive way.

Stop defending the reasons why you are where you are.

Stop arguing with everybody about why you are where you are.

Stop thinking about what you cannot have and instead focus on what you can have and desire.

You cannot move forwards by focusing on the past.

To be the best version of you, to be a better person, let go of why you think you cannot be.

Flip it around.

You will get what you focus on the most, so STOP thinking about what doesn’t serve you

and

START focusing on what does serve you that will give you the life you desire.

There is so much pain in this world that people now actively go out of their way to avoid it, isolating themselves from “potential” pain.

Pain that they perceive based on their past stories.

This most commonly turns out to be a bullshit story.

As a race, we thrive on connection, but now it is frowned upon, its not the done thing.

We fear judgement and ridicule so we don’t do it.

Well I am here to invite you to start connecting and start BEing.

Connection is love and love is what everyone craves deep down…

To BE and feel loved and appreciated.

This isn’t some bullshit sissy crap.

Real people let go of their egos and allow themselves to connect.

It is seen by many as a weakness but it is possibly your greatest strength.

Anyone who says otherwise is playing a story in their head and ultimately will feel lonely.

Become more vulnerable, allow yourself to connect with others.

Step up and show up!

We seem to live in a world where we are encouraged to bottle up and hide emotions, to keep things to yourself.

This however blocks our flow.

The power of giving and receiving.

To show up in the world as our most powerful self, letting go and sharing your truth is the only way to happiness.

In reality, being truthful and honest with yourself and others leads to great strength and belonging.

To become a better version of you, you have to DEMAND that a better version of you show up EVERY SINGLE DAY!

If you want your life to be better, contribute DAILY to change.

If you want to change how you look, contribute DAILY to change.

If you want to change how you feel, contribute DAILY to change.

If you want to have a better relationship, contribute DAILY to change

If you want a better or different career, contribute DAILY to change.

if you want to be happy, contribute DAILY to change.

Lower the barriers, make connections real and I mean real, not via social media, connect with more people in real life, face to face and watch how you grow as you do it.

If you don’t show up every day demanding the change, you will stay how you always have been.

It doesn’t have to be grand gestures, just little promises that you keep to yourself EVERY DAY.

Each little step will take you forward to a rich and rewarding life.

If you focus on how you can first help yourself and then help other people without any thought of reward.

Have the courage to focus on being the best version of you, and find the courage to start.

For the courage is inside us all, if we only choose to look inside to find it.

Remove the Safety Net

The truth is…

as much as life should be effortless

it isn’t, we always get in our own way.

Every time I do I look at my 12 year old son he always wears the biggest smile.

He is always happy and full of fun.

He teaches me that maybe I was lied to

maybe life isn’t hard

maybe life isn’t difficult

hard or difficult is just the definition we choose to believe

maybe we were told life was hard by parents, friends, family.

Then we prove it over and over to validate that what we believe is right.

Sometimes though we refuse to face up to the times when it feels hard.

when you decide to chase your dreams it may get a little messy

There may be ups and downs

any time you decide to grow, to become a better version of yourself

a 2.0 or maybe a 3.0 🙂

the growth feels uncomfortable.

staying right where you are now is safe and that is cool if it’s what you want.

But the thing is staying where you are right now is far from safe

because the reality is that one day you will look back with regrets

and wish you’d done something about it

I embrace growth, it has felt hard in the past and will again

as I work though the BS stories I have bought into that I have allowed to hold me back

I know the road less traveled will lead me to become a better version of myself

Pain is necessary to grow

Suffering is not

Always look at what feels good, what feels light

allow your intuition to guide you.

allow yourself to appreciate all that you are and all that you have

be grateful for this amazing life you have

each pain is a lesson to grow and expand

I find the best way to move forwards is to spend time with like minded people

who have walked the path and know what I will be going through and who give me the space to grow

If you’re looking to grow too and you want some support along your journey then send me a message now and we’ll have a conversation

What Are Your Addictions?

*** ADDICTION ***

To Start Changing the world, or even just YOUR world, then you have to start by changing yourself.

To change yourself you first have to be aware of any denial you have around addictions.

Addictions are actions with consequences that can lead to a sub life or worse.

You think you are in control but you are not. You think about moderation but it’s not. You think you can quit any time, but you cannot. – This is addiction

If you think you are free of addiction, try to escape and see what comes up. See how your body and brain react. Than you will find out.

Addiction is not morals and ethics.

Addiction is about cause and effect.

If Cause is excessive

Effect is often addiction

It comes down to choice…

You choose to stay locked in your cell of addiction or kill the addiction and escape.

You think you can flirt with your addictions, but you can’t. Either they are dead or they are still a threat.

Whilst YOU allow them to live, whilst YOU continue to flirt with your destiny you will always be in danger.

Addictions are funny things, they wait patiently for a way in, then they burrow deep and eventually take over.

You may not even see them coming. You may not even realise, but once they are in, they will use almost anything to stay.

Most addictions come from having low self esteem, that feeling of not being enough.

But YOU ARE enough!

What are you in denial about?

Junk Food?
Drugs (including Hard drugs, alcohol, caffeine, smoking)?
Gambling?
Pornography?
People Pleasing?

What do YOU think you are in control of, when you are not?

When your intention is clear, you will destroy your addictions, when you are not, they will always come back, justifying why its ok is just an excuse.

When you are ready to to remove an addiction, you KNOW how to do it.

You are either in or out. Courting addiction is NOT an option, if your goal is freedom, then cut addictions loose.

Many people will not move forwards out of fear, addictions closest friend. They live side by side to keep you locked away, justifying your existence.

But who wants to exist, when you can truly live?

You either choose to exist or to live. Survive or to Thrive.

To live your life on your terms, you choose to first find peace with yourself.

Recognise that you are enough.

You are powerful beyond measure.

You are worthy.

So make your intentions clear. Take your power back and remove your addictions, or be forever stuck.

Extreme Ownership

A BIG reason why you may not be achieving your fitness, business (or any other) goals is your lack of awareness.

Awareness precedes change.

One of my favourite sayings, you may have heard me mention it once or twice 😉

Why?

Because without awareness, no “plan” will help since you’re not even aware of the real problem. The underlying cycle will continue to repeat itself.

As we change habits we move from…

Unconscious incompetence –> Conscious incompetence –> Conscious competence –> Unconscious incompetence

From completely unaware, to aware but no knowledge of how to change, to consciously learning and making the changes, to finally applying the change automatically without thinking about it.

To move from that first step we have to become aware of it first!

Although accountability is a big factor in success, you can only be held accountable if you’re truly committed.

And to be truly committed you have to first take ownership of your current reality.

The beauty of that is that we get to destroy our current reality that does not serve us and create a new one that does.

Sometimes we realise we have the power to change, but it feels uncomfortable and so we don’t stick with it only to let it go.

Heres why…

By deciding to change you are taking the responsibility for that action and it can be very uncomfortable. Many stories can rise out of your mind why you “couldn’t possible do it”. But ask yourself,  is that really true? or is it the voice of fear?

It can be very easy to then not do the actions required to improve your life and then blame them on something else instead so you don’t have to have that responsibility.

But without responsibility, you have no power over yourself. You relinquish control of your life to someone or something else.

Is that what you want?

Sometimes when you don’t do anything you cannot fail at it, you cannot be judged, you will not hear “I told you so”.

But if you really want to improve your life you must own it.

By taking extreme ownership, you get to accept the process and take responsibility and know it is all on you whether you succeed or not.

But this is a good thing, because even if you fail, you are still in control, still able to learn the lesson why, make adjustments and try again.

So what is your priority?

Do you want to take back control of your life, or do you want your life to control you?

e.g. from a nutrition perspective, there may be a number of things to change, but don’t try and change them all at once. decide on a step and implement it. it might be…

3 litres of water per day

Add more protein to your daily diet

Add more fats to each meal

Get more sleep

Eat and chew slower

If you struggle, ask what’s the lesson?

Do I take on less? do I make sure I do one thing consistently THEN move to the next thing when you are ready for it?

What things are you trying, but not succeeding at and blaming someone or something other than yourself?

Remember, every one has the time, its the priority you place on what you are doing that determines what you do.

So prioritise and plan what you want to change and execute the plan, consistently, day by day, week by week. until you succeed.

It doesn’t have to look a certain way, be flexible with it, but get it done.

too much stuff

Do You Have too Much Baggage to Succeed?

Have you ever noticed?

It seems as if we spend the first part of our lives collecting things…material possessions, and general baggage to try and make us happy.

we are convinced that buy shiny objects will lead to happiness

but have you ever realised?

That once you buy the thing you cannot live without it almost instantly loses its shine and so you move onto the next shiny object in the hope that it will be the answer to your smiles.

Then we get to a point in life when we realise that all of it is just “stuff”. Which doesn’t actually make much difference on our happiness or well being.

Then we spend the last part of our lives trying to get out from under it all and maybe patch up our damaged health or our poor relationships that we sacrificed in getting all this stuff.

Thing is until we start looking inside ourselves, we will still search everywhere else for the solution or blame everyone or thing why we don’t, even when the answer is right in front of us (or actually inside of us) all along. Sometimes we are just forced to confront them.

Like now.

I have been the same. Working so hard on everyone elses happiness I had been neglecting my own. I just never realised it at the time.

You see I love to help people, it is why I am here on this planet. But there is something I knew I should do first, but neglected to do until I forced myself to…

…to look after myself first.

<<<IMPORTANT FACT RIGHT THERE! >>>

If you know me, you probably know that can be terrible at getting back to you. Sometimes doing everything last minute, its never intentional.

You see I have been telling myself I haven’t got time to deal with all the work I have to do.

But I have called myself out my own B.S. It isn’t a tonne of messages or emails or enquiries I was faced with, it was because I am so unorganised.

Too much in my head, too much “stuff” on my desk to sort out.

This stuff can wear you out. We humans do that a lot to justify our actions. Make excuses as to why was cannot do something, It makes us feel better for the lack of success we’re having.

BUT

It doesn’t serve you AT ALL

Hiding behind the truth, scared in case you get found out. I’m willing to put money on it that you’re doing the same with your body.

Maybe you have sacrificed your body for you career or for raising your family and like me telling my self I am too busy.

You’ve been telling yourself you have no time for exercise,

You have no time to prepare your meals,

But in reality…. you’re spending wasted minutes in the day on Facebook – those minutes add up!

{TIP: Download the app “break free” to find out how much time you’re wasting on social media}

Or suppressing this lack of progress with naughty food, booze, internet, TV..etc

and because you’ve not been taking care of yourself, you’re not as productive at work, so your finances are not reaching their potential. You’re not present at home, so your not being intimate with your partner.

This all stems from not looking after yourself first.

i.e. You happiness, your fitness, your nutrition.

But the truth is too obvious and because it requires a change of routine, it’s easier to suppress the pain your covering up, with more sedation, more food, booze, tv, and internet etc…

So you continue to tell yourself LIES to justify why you cannot change and like me, you probably have had too much baggage in your environment.

So how about this…

Start by having a clear out

Bag up the clothes that you no longer wear,

Clean everything…Maybe you think you are dancing the hoover around like Mrs Doubtfire,

But probably look more like Freddie Mercury in the music video “I want to break free” wink emoticon

Change the bed sheets, open the windows, clear your workspace, get your feng shui on and feel zen like.

More importantly… De-stress and wipe the slate clean

Make the fresh start!

It’s SHOCKING how much environment stress weighs us down.

So just by detoxing your environment, you will feel that weight lift from your shoulders.

It’s an amazing feeling.

Taking the first step is the biggest effort

Once you have done that we can take care of other baggage for you…

like emotional stress

and digestive stress.

exercise stress…

So When will you be ready to deposit some energy into YOURSELF to become a better version of yourself?

Be Courageous
Be Happy
