How to Appreciate your life TODAY!
 
Stress is huge in peoples lives, constantly getting caught up in trivial things and making HUGE deals out of them.
 
I know, I have been there myself, many, many times!
 
So I wanted to share something with you today, that will make a massive difference to how you think and feel today…
 
At your earliest opportunity, take yourself off the grid. go for a 45-60 minute walk, somewhere away from roads and the usual hustle and bustle.
 
Find a woodland, go to the beach, some patch of country side, somewhere you can simply switch off.
 
We are creatures of Nature, so reconnect with who you are and where you are from. Listen to the birds, the rustle of the leaves in the trees, the waves crashing onto the sand or the wind.
 
Feel the breeze – How does it feel to you?
 
What can you smell? – what subtle smells are in the air that you recognise?
 
What can you see? – look beyond what you expect to see and look for things hidden in plain sight. What trees do you see?
birds? what detail can you focus on that you just accept day to day?
 
what can you hear? – what are you tuned out of? the every day wonders that you no longer hear?
 
Remove your sight, close your eyes and listen, how much different does it feel using your other senses?
 
Free your Mind From the Rat Race! stop all the stressful thoughts coming in by focusing on the very moment you are in, BE in the moment.
 
So why should do this?
 
Because you are taking YOUR life for granted, it is passing by at an incredible rate and you are simply not living it to its fullest. It is bogged down with the excesses of life that you simply do not need, but are terrified to let go of.
 
Too busy worrying and stressing, getting the kids to school, getting to work, living up to others, pleasing others and constantly worrying about your “what if” future.
 
Your life is in fast forward and you don’t even know it!
 
Don’t dismiss this out of hand.
 
Bringing yourself back into balance, improving your health (Exercise, Nutrition, Mindset) is the most important thing you could ever do.
 
Just as you train physically to look after muscles and joints, just as you eat correctly to nourish your very being, You must also nourish and exercise your mind.
 
Our minds are polluted daily with mindless reality shows, gossip magazines, the misery on the news on tv, papers and radio. Training our minds is vital for our health.
 
Picture a mind garden, you can plant roses (positive thoughts, positive, information) or you can plant weeds (Misery and negative thoughts as mentioned above). Both grow equally.
 
Which do you think is best for you?
 
To have a healthy mind you have to look after it. Remove the A.N.T.S (automatic negative thoughts). Catch them when they go in, be aware of them and refuse them entry. Take the positive situation from everything, see how you can FLIP any situation to your advantage.
 
If you dwell on what you don’t want, you will get more of that. So focus on what you do want, make it your purpose.
 
So start today to reconnect with your inner self, take yourself out of the rat race and simply slow down. Remove the excess that you don’t need and find your essence. Then have the courage to face up to yourself and challenge your very purpose.
 
when was the last time you did? when was the last time you just stopped?
 
When was the last time you appreciated what you have? your health? your family? your loved ones? your friends?
 
How about doing this today and seeing how you feel?

I’m TOO Busy

I’m TOO busy!

How often have you said that?

I know I have said it A LOT over the years!

But here’s the thing…

We always have time to improve.

Yes, seriously there is always time!

it is easy to say “I haven’t got time”… but that isn’t true is it?

in reality it is most often because you don’t see the value in it.

So if you wanted to lose weight but haven’t got the time, its really because you may think that you should, but you haven’t got a compelling reason to.

But have you asked yourself why?

Because in reality, if you just thought about it, you may just come up with that compelling reason to change and stop buying into a bullsh*t story holding you back!

Because that is ALL they are!

We hold onto them for dear life as justification why you cannot achieve what you want or do what you dream of doing.

So I am calling you out.

Because there is ALWAYS time!

Maybe you want time to…

  • Play with and keep up with your kids,
  • be a great role model for your kids so they grow up fit and healthy
  • complete a challenge like a 5k run to raise money for a charity close to your heart.
  • Land your dream job (but don’t feel you are good enough)
  • get that bikini bod back
  • get into your mighty fine wardrobe hanging in the cupboard.

The truth is, once you find the real reason.

That reason you will move heaven and earth to achieve?

Then suddenly you will find the time and realise you were never really that busy after all.

I have been there,

My wife and I were told we couldn’t have kids.

So we had a compelling reason to find a way and make the changes and to live a healthier active lifestyle and understand what true health meant. (and its not what the media and supermarkets tell you believe me!)

Thats how we have a beautiful thriving son. Because we didn’t accept what the doctors said

So the only reason  you are holding yourself back is the story you listen to.

The one you created, because lets face it, you weren’t born with it, you put it in there.

So stop using whatever story you are hanging on to as an excuse why you cannot improve your life, because you can, you can have and do anything you choose.

So change the story and it might just change your life.

Wheres the Struggle?

Struggle

Now there’s a word banded about so much these days.

It seems like more and more we are conditioned that life should be a struggle.

So much so that we buy into that story and act it out, every day!

We blindly accept that we should be struggling and suffering, based on what we hear and are told and so we actually take that story and work hard to make it true.

I mean it must be true, everyone says so, everyone tells me life is hard so it must be true!

But what if I told you life can be easy?

I’ll bet some stories come into your head just to prove me wrong.

I know that because I had those stories and still do.

So I get it, I really do.

I’ve been there. Believed what everyone said.

You got to work hard, you got to sacrifice, grind, struggle etc etc. all words that infer difficulty.

and boy did I live up to it!

but it isn’t supposed to be.

Once you really realise and accept how little time you really have on this spinning orb, thats when you realise you can do anything you want.

And should go about it with all the passion and purpose you can muster.

Where is it written that if you do something that you truly love that it will be difficult?

Our fleeting presence is a mere speck in time and each day if you waste that time doing things that serve no purpose? is a travesty.

So listen up! It’s game time. You’re in, playing, right now, and the clock is ticking.

Yes you are, right here, right now!

So what are you going to do?

If you are only existing and surviving, doing something you loathe, when you have your dreams hidden away under lock and key, what has to happen for you to change that?

Make no mistake, in no time at all you will be gone, forever. So you better do whatever it is you’re going to do. Because once you time is up, it’s up.

You cannot turn back those hands of time.

So what do you do?

You replace clarity instead of confusion

By contracting to expand, removing the clutter and excess in your life that does not serve you, so you can provide the space to grow into who you really are.

So simplify the complexity. If it feels too hard, it is, so see how you can make it easier.

Do less not more, when did doing more make things simpler?

Find your true essence. when everything about who think you are is stripped back, the real you will remain, so have the courage to face yourself and find YOU.

Forget about survival and struggle

Focus on thriving and success.

We all have the ability to choose our own path to happiness, you just have to have the courage to stand up and find it.

Now here’s a common theme….

People sacrificing their health in order to achieve what they feel is success.

And normally it is a number. whether it it how much they make, or a number on a scale. This number comes at the detriment of your health and here’s why…

How long does that feeling of success last when you end up sick or worse, diagnosed with a disease?

Less time than you think!

and Yes, people can take dieting to extremes for the number on a scale, and dieting is NOT health!

How often have scales stole smiles in your life?

We are conditioned to think that it is all about the hustle and grind, that you are not a success unless you have a big bank balance or you are a size zero.

But heres the thing and its a well known saying…

all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. But not only that it can make Jack a sick boy too!

Life is for living, RIGHT NOW.

Not for when you are retired. Whats the point of driving yourself into the ground earning and working to the detriment of your health when you are no longer here to enjoy it?

Look, I know you have to work to have what you want. but lets get some perspective!

it is how we are defining success. its arse about face.

success is having your health and enjoying your life, everything else comes after that.

its about the journey, NOT the destination. Because more often than not, once you reach the destination, whether it is a financial goal or a number on the scale, I’ll dare bet you will feel no different, in fact you will probably feel deflated.

Why?

because the destination does not change anything!

The first step to success is understanding yourself. loving yourself and accepting you are enough just BEing YOU!

You have to START living, stop hiding from your truths. those stories you have buried because you do not want to face up to them.

The only time you have to move forwards is RIGHT NOW!

Be honest with yourself?

How is your health?

Are you full of energy? full of vitality? fit? awake?

No?

Then its time to make a change.

Be brutally honest with yourself.

Have the courage to look directly at what is holding you back and release yourself from it.

The worst place you can be is a place of regret. when your health has deteriorated and you realise that there are things you haven’t achieved, you haven’t been happy or fulfilled and there is precious little you can do about it.

The time is now. time to change. Time to look after you.

One Smart Dude

I watched the film “theory of everything” at the weekend about Prof Stephen Hawking’s life. What an incredible person, who despite everything has continued to amaze the world.

He literally chose to do what he set out to do despite the medical profession giving him only 2 years to live.

Now this condition is very real and life threatening and yet he defied EVERYONE!

You see in his early 20’s he was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease otherwise known as ALS. A brilliant man with the world at his feet, I can not even imagine being told you have 2 years to live.

I have known a few people with this condition, who were told they had a short life span and accepted their fate, most without thought or challenge.

Professor Hawkings is now 74!

He simply chose that he had too much to offer the world and too much to discover that he decided that his time was not up.

There are things in life that come easy and some that are challenging and no doubt this was a challenge that I would not wish on anybody.

but here’s what I found totally fascinating about his story.

It reMINDed my how much the power of the mind is incredible!
it can manifest things both good and bad. It can debilitate you, it can create euphoria and pleasure.

Prof Hawkings was a man that simply refused to give up, no matter what happened to him.

In life you can have anything you want, no matter what happens, it is how you choose to react and respond to it.

You can have anything you attract, so focus on what you do want, have the faith and belief to see it through everyday through your thoughts, words AND Actions.

Thinking and saying is not enough we must DO!

Anything is possible.

It made me re-evalute everything. Myself, my business and relationships, everything.

Because even though we all perceive problems, we make them real. But after watching this film I thought how insignificant mine all were.

Thats why I do what I do, to help people see beyond the walls they construct for themselves.

to help them get on track. Action crushes doubt. I know its true. its the only thing that works for me.

Taking imperfect action, stepping up despite how I felt (and I struggled with this a lot)

In life I believe we have to remove the excess. Contract to expand.

Minimise all the superfluous to find the real you.

To cut the baggage loose and find the courage to face your truths and stories. To challenge everything you have come to accept and believe.

The truth is, it is simply understanding and KNOWING the real you and BEING who you were meant to be.

To love who you are and BE who you really are, every day.

To speak from the heart with confidence and understand your values.

To show up everyday and ENJOY life BEING you!
